Musica da camera is the 17th-century term for music performed in a chamber, or "camera."
The Da Camera Society was founded at Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles in 1973 to foster the return of chamber music to the intimate spaces for which it was originally intended.
Because ticket revenues cover less than half of program costs, none of these adventuresome concerts would be possible without the help of our many supporters. Their generosity has allowed us to bring to a larger audience a musical experience formerly available only to an aristocratic elite — and to share these rich resources with the community through our Music Education Programs, which bring music into the lives of those most in need of its enriching and affirmative powers.
You can support the work of the Da Camera Society in a number of ways, from becoming an Individual Member, to giving via Corporate Sponsorships and Foundation support. We also offer unique Volunteer Opportunities.
