One of the world's most celebrated string quartets, this "furiously committed" ensemble (The New Yorker) has for over 20 years impressed sold-out audiences at prestigious venues here and abroad with their "nuance, handsome phrasing and meticulous playing" (San Francisco Chronicle). A first-prize winner at multiple competitions, the Miró is in residence at the University of Texas in Austin where, with an eye to the future, it is dedicated to preserving chamber music by finding new ways to communicate with a variety of audiences. In the glow of the Pompeian Room's Tiffany dome, they will perform quartets by Beethoven (in f, Op. 95, "Serioso"), Schumann (in a, Op. 41/1) and Schubert (in E-flat, D. 87). "The performance had the audience spellbound" (Washington Post).
