Szymanowski Quartet

The ‘Warsaw Foursome’ returns to the Pompeian Room with “superb technical control, innate musicality and an extraordinary sense of ensemble” (The Strad). Experience their “distinctively understated sound, at once silky and emotionally urgent” (San Francisco Chronicle) in a program of quartets by Schubert (in g, D. 173) and Mozart (in C, “The Dissonance”) as well as Sokolov’s endearing pastiche of miniatures for string quartet, Les Vendredis (named after the Friday night ‘get-togethers’ of the famed Belyayev circle of Russian composers).

Catered Reception with artists following the concert

The Doheny Soirées Series is cosponsored by Barbara Jury and J.H.B. Kean & Toby E. Mayman.
