Les Sync with
Buffy Baggott, mezzo soprano

Christopher Matthews, flute; Marjolaine Lambert, violin; Amina Tébini, viola; Arnold Choi, cello; Lindsay Garritson, piano

Our 40th Anniversary season closes with a scintillating evening of French music and the world debut of Les Sync. Joined by a singer praised as “tonally luscious and dramatically adept” (San Francisco Chronicle), their program includes a voluptuous song-cycle by Ravel entitled Chansons madécasses, an exotic evocation of life on the island of Madagascar; songs by Saint-Saëns and the profoundly gifted but tragically short-lived genius Lili Boulanger; and the only chamber music work by the great organist and composer Maurice Duruflé, his ravishing Prélude, récitatif et variations for flute, viola, and piano, Op. 3.

Following the concert, join us for a catered reception with the artists.
