Chasing Colors

In celebration of our 40th anniversary season, The Da Camera Society looks to the future, launching L.A.’s newest contemporary music ensemble – eight exceptional young artists exploring the full range of music from the 20th and 21st centuries. A 1904 “temple of finance” in the heart of Downtown L.A.’s historic Bank District is the setting for their world debut program “Chasing Colors,” a high-energy sonic adventure, including Jennifer Higdon’s frenetic Zaka, Thomas Adès’ playful Catch, Michael Torke’s Yellow Pages – and the premiere of a work by Michael Gordon (co-founder, Bang on a Can), commissioned for DC8.

Arrive early and linger afterwards – a reception runs throughout the evening.

The Michael Gordon commission is supported by a generous gift from The MaddocksBrown Foundation.

This program is supported by a grant from the National Endowments for the Arts, a federal agency.
