With the distinguished and profoundly musical cellist Peter Stumpf completing his survey of the three Suites for solo cello by Benjamin Britten, The Da Camera Society celebrates the centenary of the birth of this great British composer. The home of Qingyun Ma, Dean of the USC School of Architecture, is absorbed into the landscape, with a sense of futuristic and unexpected architectural sensitivities, providing the ideal setting for Stumpf, a superb recitalist who possesses a remarkable and sympathetic insight into this 20th-century masterpiece of the repertory for solo cello.
