Los Angeles Arboretum & Botanic Garden, The Coach Barn
Albert A. Bennett (1879)

Modern Mandolin Quartet

Capturing international acclaim for their vivacious approach and for a “freshness and vitality of a kind that is rare in material of this type” (Fanfare), the Modern Mandolin Quartet’s Americana-themed program reflects its quaint setting, the charming 19th century Coach Barn of the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Gardens. Founded in the 1980’s with two mandolins, a mandola and a mandocello, the group’s resulting enchanting sonority of plucked strings is irresistible. Enjoy a stroll through the exquisite spring-time gardens of the Arboretum before experiencing “America’s premiere mandolin quartet playing at the top of its game.”

Light reception.
