Bask in the sumptuous surroundings of the oldest and most elegant private club in Los Angeles while listening to an all-star gathering of the most celebrated chamber music artists from South California and beyond. Beginning with the warm, enveloping sonority of Schumann’s ardently romantic Fantasiestücke for French horn and piano (Op. 93), this program moves to Mozart’s exquisite “Kegelstatt” Trio for clarinet, viola, and piano (in E-flat, K. 498), written to repay a gambling debt to a clarinetist! Beethoven’s charming Septet (in E-flat, Op. 20) concludes this concert, an ingratiating yet lively work that was especially beloved by Viennese audiences during the composer’s lifetime.
Enhance the experience and enjoy a prix-fixe dinner (separate purchase) in one of the club’s elegant salons prior to the performance. Details announced in January
This concert is sponsored and hosted by Warner & Carol Henry. |
