Ring in the holidays with a concert of joyous seasonal music from the 16th and 17th centuries played by a Grammy award-winning early music ensemble whose music-making has been lauded as “crisp and clean in performance, with tempos that keep the music alive and rhythmically active” (Fanfare). Set in the resonant acoustics of St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral, decorated with glowing, gem-like mosaics, this neo-Romanesque church, modeled on the 11th-century church of San Pietro in Tuscania, has been called “the most beautiful in Los Angeles” (Los Angeles Times). This noble edifice is the perfect backdrop for a concert that includes Christmas music from Italy and Spain, including works by Monteverdi, Scarlatti, and Corelli’s beloved Concerto “for Christmas Night.” “Every second of this concert was pure joy” (San Diego Arts).

This concert is made possible in part by a generous grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
