 Borromeo String Quartet

One of the most sought after string quartets in the world opens our series of Doheny Soirées with “a musical experience of luminous beauty” (San Diego Reader). Recipients of the 2007 Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Borromeo Quartet has consistently received the highest accolades for its residencies and concerts throughout the U.S. and beyond. Don’t miss this extraordinary ensemble as they present quartets of Haydn (in f, Op. 20/5, and in B-flat, Op. 76/4, "Sunrise") and Schumann (in a, Op. 41/1) surrounded by the Pompeian Room’s magical ambiance. “…a remarkably accomplished string quartet, not simply for its high technical polish and refined tone, but more importantly for the searching musical insights it brings” (Chicago Tribune).
Catered artists receptions accompany all Doheny Soirées.
J.H.B. Kean & Toby Mayman and Barbara Jury are Diamond Founders Council Cosponsors of the Doheny Soirées. |
